The CONDOR project at school

An important component of the CONDOR project is the involvement of local high schools in the project activities. Two high schools, from Faial and Pico island, are actively participating in the outreach and educational component of the project.

Escola_Manuel_de_ArriagaAna Filipa Marcos and Joana Figueiras contributed to preparing the script for a TV documentary on seamounts, which will be realized with the collaboration of the local television, RTP Açores.

 

 

The students of the Multimedia class João Dutra, Luís Ávila, Ricardo Duarte, Rui Almeida, Tiago Aica, Tiago Silveira, Tiago Abreu and João Silva prepared Flash animations describing some of the biological processes occurring at seamounts.

Nuno Bulhão, Luís Nunes, Flávia Brás and Miguel Libório (on the right) together with Ana Rita Rodrigues, Cláudia Medeiros, Danilo Reis, Filipa Castro, Nicole Vieira and Mariana Castro prepared a web site on  seamounts and the CONDOR project and public outreach material on seamounts, in Portuguese.
